I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals heal and create the life they want to live. I bring a warm, compassionate energy to therapy. Together we will create a connection that that feels comfortable and safe, a foundation for your healing and growth.
I earned a Master of Science degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, with a Specialization in Medical Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale in 2000 and have been an LMFT in Florida since 2003. At the beginning of my career, I counseled children and families in several capacities, including the school system, therapeutic foster care, and non-profit agency work. I was also exceptional education teacher and taught elementary school for 7 years.
Since 2012, I have been in private practice in Melbourne, Florida, supporting individuals through major life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders.
I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health professional and I specialize in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, postpartum adjustment, perinatal loss, perinatal trauma, fertility issues, and adoption adjustment. I provide emotional support through pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood.
I’ve completed post graduate training in perinatal mental health from the Postpartum Stress Center, Postpartum Support International, and advanced training in perinatal EMDR with the Touchstone Institute. I’m continuously learning and participating in trainings on attachment, grief, and trauma, and the neurobiology of healing.
I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and this lens informs my practice. EMDR therapy stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and is a an innovative, highly effective psychotherapy proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences.
I am an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and I offer consultation services for EMDR therapists. I have a passion for helping therapists develop and strengthen their confidence and skills as they integrate EMDR therapy into their practice. I especially love the combination of perinatal work with EMDR, and I enjoy collaborating with other therapists across the country who share my passion.
I also help facilitate foundational EMDR trainings and advanced EMDR trainings with the Touchstone Institute and the Institute for Creative Mindfulness.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family in nature and at the beach. I love music, walking, and traveling.
